Organizing workshops/seminars/trainings

There will be a few larger events organized under the MDF banner every year. These events will be focused on discussing and learning and sharing experiences of different MDF organizations about a specific tool or issue.

The events that have been planned for 2008 are:

  • Workshop on Private Sector Development Approaches in the Poultry Sector, 20 April 2008

The poultry sector has been one of the fastest growing sectors in Bangladesh and contributes tremendously to Bangladesh’s economy. Even with the current condition of avian flu, the poultry sector has shown its strength and continues to move forward. This workshop will be an opportunity for several of the MDF members to share about their interventions in the poultry sector, as well as, to learn about challenges being faced by small commercial farmers.
We hope this workshop will result in a greater understanding of how development projects, the private sector and the government can work together to stimulate effective competition within the poultry sector and to serve the needs of small commercial farmers and consumers with well targeted interventions and appropriate policies and regulations.

  • Training on Impact Assessment, 27-30 July 2008
